ROM is a meeting place for art, architecture, and design, facilitating professional development, collaboration, and public engagement across sectors. We explore how spaces shape – and are shaped by – society, drawing on the working methods of artists, architects, and designers.

ROM is an independent foundation that emerged in 2005 through the merger of Galleri ROM (1987) and the Institute for Spatial Art (1989). Today, we continue this legacy as a multidisciplinary laboratory for spatial practices. Since 1987, we have facilitated open-ended processes and foregrounded interdisciplinary encounters through exhibitions, public conversations, publications, and collaborations across disciplines and institutions.
